Galeries de la Capitale

We are located in front of the MEGA PARC on the ground floor, close from the IMAX and Toys’r’us. 

 

Free parking is available and we are located just outside Gate G.

The following buses go to the Galeries de la Capitale: 70, 75, 823, 82 and 85. Get off at the Galeries stop and enter the shopping center. Turn right and at the middle of the mall, go down the stairs. Turn left towards the MEGA PARC and in front of the footbridge over the ice rink, we will be on your right.

It is not mandatory to buy your tickets in advance. Tickets are always available at the door. However, it is recommended to buy them during busy periods such as Christmas holidays or spring break.

No modification or ticket refund. If you cannot make it on the scheduled date of your visit, tickets will remain valid.

The visit lasts approximately 45 minutes.

This is not a guided tour so the time spent is individual to each person.

The activity begins with an optional cartoon of about 10 minutes for children under 7 years old. 

The aviary consists of 4 domes 7 meters in diameter. It’s quick to go around it if you don’t take the time to enjoy the butterflies. We have around 60 species of butterflies at one time in the aviary and hundreds of butterflies flying around so take the time to find them, interact and take pictures with the different species. Information panels, a short educational film and our employee are available to help you discover even more about butterflies. 

What is the difference between the Brossard Center and the Ephemeral Attractions?

The Brossard center is a complete amusement center open year-round in a Quartier DIX30 building, while the pop-up centers are made up of domes and don’t have as many experiences.

The Brossard center has higher prices as it is a complete amusement center including the interactive butterfly aviary, a game module with many stations, a mysterious mirror maze, rock climbing on walls and palm trees and an indoor tree course. The recommended age is 0 to 12 years old for the center, but people of all ages, even without children, can enjoy. the place.

Centre in Quebec city has butterfly aviary, mirror maze and a special combo with the Mega Parc. 

Pop-up centers like the one in Laval only include a butterfly aviary and a movie theater and are not open during winter.

However, Bfly stands out from other aviaries with a magical universe, perfect for taking family or couple photos. The place is perfectly suited to bring the magic of dreams to life for children with the educational cartoon. In addition, we participate with one of our suppliers, El Bosque Nuevo from Costa Rica, in the conservation of the rainforest and butterflies.

The aviary and labyrinthe can be bought in combo to save 3$.

Children under 15 must be under supervision of an adult (18+).

The Méga Parc and Bfly Combo requires a minimum height of 36”. Adults can choose to purchase the same package, to let the children visit the play modules alone (purchase of an adult aviary ticket) or not to accompany them in the aviary or the modules (15 years and over) .

Gift card: Online or physical Attraction gift cards (turquoise with butterflies) can be used in Quebec and Laval only. To use them, book your tickets online here and enter the card number or come see us in store during opening hours. Gift cards do not expire, but the Laval center is closed in winter. Gift cards are neither redeemable for cash nor refundable.

 

CAL or Access 2 card: We are pleased to welcome people with disabilities. Our space is well suited to your visit with accessible restrooms nearby next to the IMAX. The card gives free entry to a companion with the purchase of a ticket for a person with a disability. To take advantage of this offer, buy a ticket online or go directly to the venue to purchase your tickets. You will be asked to present the card at reception.

 

Oxford/Galeries de la Capitale gift card: Due to our temporary situation, it is unfortunately not possible for us to accept the Galeries de la Capitale gift card.

 

MEGA PARC bracelet and point card: The MEGA PARC bracelet and point cards cannot be used at Bfly. We are located near the Méga Parc, but we are not part of their facilities. However, we now offer a Mega Park Arsenal and Centrale combo with our butterfly aviary. Find out more here.

On arrival, it is important to leave your coat in the cloakroom because it’s very hot in the aviary and this reduces the risk of escape of butterflies which could hide in the clothes. We have a small cloakroom on site.

Our site is well suited for pushchairs and wheelchairs. It is easy to get around the whole center. Adapted toilets are available nearby in the shopping center between the information kiosk and IMAX.

However, please note that personal strollers are not accepted in the aviary. You can bring your stroller for the visit in the cinema, but you will be asked to leave it in the stroller parking area just before entering the aviary. Small strollers will be lent to you free of charge inside to avoid butterflies escape.

For animals, only guide dogs are accepted for the visit. No other animals, including emotional support animals, are accepted. Present your proof upon arrival.

Autistic people are welcome at Bfly. Please note that it is recommended to bring sound suppressors and a cap or sunglasses for the visit as we have music in the aviaries and the light for the plants can be intense. If you need a place to relax, we will be happy to help you.

The visit is particularly recommended for children from 0 to 10 years old, but there is no age to enjoy exotic butterflies. We accept people of all ages, with or without children. 

Our team is well trained to ensure the safety of your children, but please note that all children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult for the visit.

A breastfeeding room is available nearby between the shopping center information kiosk and IMAX. As it is forbidden to bring other drinks than water in the aviary, it is forbidden to give the bottle to baby in the aviary. If it is brought into the aviary, we must keep it in the freezer for a week before returning it to you. You can give it in the boutique or in the breastfeeding room at Galeries de la Capitale.

The children will all be given a foam stick for the visit. It helps children a lot not to catch the butterflies with their hands. You will be shown how to pick up the butterflies with it at the entrance of the aviary.

No outside food is allowed. It could contain bacteria or diseases harmful to butterflies. It is forbidden to eat or drink anything other than water in the aviary. It’s hot in the aviary, so it is recommended to bring a bottle of water.

The children will all be entitled to a foam stick with sugary water for the visit.

To attract butterflies, it is recommended to wear bright colors with patterns.

No dining table is available in the experience. To eat, you can go to the 2nd floor above us to eat in the Galeries de la Capitale snack bar. No food and drink is accepted in the aviary except a bottle of water.

Toilets and a breastfeeding room are available nearby, between the information booth and the IMAX.

We have a large shop to bring back souvenirs after your visit.

It is forbidden to leave with dead or alive cocoons or butterflies. This is for the safety of our environment in Quebec and the safety of our butterflies. You must leave any coats and jackets in the cloakroom, and you must leave your shopping bags at the checkout counter or with your coat. You will be asked to check carefully when leaving the aviary that you do not come out with butterflies unintentionally. You may be asked by our employees to check your pockets or bags, as they like to slip into the most unexpected places.

 

It is also not possible for us to give away or sell dead butterflies from our aviary.

 

You can buy frames and domes with butterflies without the risk of contamination in the store.

If you left you winter coat in the cloakroom, please visit the Galeries information center.

Lost items are kept for 2 weeks at the center. You can contact us by email at [email protected] to find out if we have found what you are looking for or come see us on site.

The wings of the butterflies are damaged:

The butterflies in the aviary are protected from their natural enemies such as large bodies of water in which the butterflies could drown or birds. As we offer a good quality of life to our butterflies, they live longer and therefore their wings have time to degrade. Don’t be sad, it proves that they had a long and beautiful life!

 

Plants are made of plastic:

Butterflies use plants for 2 reasons; feed and hide. We therefore have plants with natural flowers in the aviary to feed them and we offer them with a wide variety of space to hide and rest. Butterflies have no problem with whether the plant they use to land on is real or artificial.

 

Temperature and environment:

Butterflies are our collaborators. There are many logistical challenges that we must overcome to operate an exotic butterfly aviary. That’s why the temperature is kept above 25 degrees, because that’s their ideal temperature, but it’s also a lot of other things that we have to do backstage. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to give them the best possible life so they can put on a great show for our customers.

We participate with one of our suppliers in Costa Rica, in the conservation of the rainforest and butterflies in their natural environment. Butterflies are a gift, let’s protect them together.
